MISSION:
WORKFORCE ALLIANCE

Connecting transitioning service members with the business community

To combat the pressing workforce shortage and drive economic growth, Mission: Workforce Alliance offers a solution by connecting businesses and Transitioning Service Members.

The Bridge For Businesses

Mission: Workforce Alliance (MWA) addresses workforce shortage challenges. The program simplifies the recruitment process, making it more accessible and cost-effective for businesses. Through resources and training offered as part of the program, businesses will better understand and leverage the diverse capabilities and experiences of veteran employees.

This comprehensive approach not only aids businesses in overcoming common hiring obstacles but also unlocks the potential of a highly skilled and adaptable talent pool. When you choose to hire a Transitioning Service Member, you’re giving them a chance to transition into civilian life and embark on a new chapter.

200,000 Transitioning Service Members Transition Each Year

Each year, the Department of Defense reports that approximately 200,000 service members transition from active duty and we want to help them find the Great State of Wisconsin. Mission: Workforce Alliance gives our partners exclusive access to this remarkable group of individuals, representing a diverse range of skills and experiences. Mission: Workforce Alliance is an unparalleled opportunity for you to tap into a talent pipeline teeming with qualified, skilled candidates.

Aging & declining workforce

Wisconsin faces a shortage of about 140,000 workers, because there simply are not enough people to fill open positions. We’ve seen a gradual increase in the median age of Wisconsinites from 38.5 years in 2010 to 40.7 years in 2020. Shifts in cultural norms, the pursuit of higher education and careers have many having fewer children, contributing to declining birth rates. Outmigration is happening particularly among younger individuals seeking job opportunities outside the state.

Highly skilled candidates

An estimated 200,000 individuals transition out of the military annually. HR Professionals say Veterans thrive in a multitude of roles because of their technical expertise and educational background. By hiring military veterans, companies gain access to a pool of highly skilled candidates who possess a wealth of experience, leadership qualities, and a strong work ethic. Their unique skill set and perspective can contribute to innovation, teamwork, and organizational success.

Business Uncertainty

Over 75% of employers recognize that veterans have the necessary skills and education, and 97% agree that veterans excel in various roles. Yet, due to challenges in outreach, affordable resources, and skill alignment, many employers miss out on tapping into this exceptional talent pool.
